On vehicles whose bonnet is held by gas springs instead of a prop rod, one or two springs lift the bonnet and hold it open while the engine bay is worked on.
Each ZEIK bonnet gas spring is defined by its extended length, its stroke and its eject force in newtons. The replacement must match all three and the end fittings; a spring that is too weak lets the bonnet sag, and one that is too strong makes it hard to close.
The catalogue lists a single reference or a pair, depending on how the vehicle is built. Where two springs are fitted they are replaced together.
