A shock absorber with spring seat carries the coil spring on a seat welded to the damper body. It sits between a plain shock absorber and a full strut: the seat locates the spring, while the wheel is located by other suspension arms.
ZEIK builds the seat that bears the spring from selected materials and combines it with the structural features of its strut cartridges. The aim is to prevent the two failures this part is exposed to: breakage at the seat under repeated spring load, and leakage at the rod seal.
Damping is controlled by fully self-adjusting valves. The tube is charged with nitrogen gas, which reduces aeration and foaming inside and keeps the damping consistent and durable. The piston rod is hardened and chrome-plated, and the all-weather fluid contains modifiers that reduce friction for a smooth rod reaction.
